UNILAG Suspends Students’ Union Leaders Over Protest

Reports reaching BlackBox Nigeria have it that the governing body of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) has suspended some members of the Students’ Union leadership.
According to investigations, the suspension was handed down as a result of their participation in the recently held protest in the institution.

BBN learnt that the suspended student union leaders got between two to four semesters each.
Affected by this new development are the SUG’s President, Speaker and Public Relations Officer and some others..

BBN checks further revealed that three of the suspended students have gotten their suspension letters, while others have been notified that they have a mail by their departments’ officials.‎

“None of them (SUG leaders) were spared. The least among them got two semesters’ suspension,” a source in the UNILAG Senate disclosed

One of the affected union leaders also confirmed the development while disclosing that “We are currently strategising on the way out of the challenge. Nobody is spared.”‎
