The ugly incident occurred on the night of July 29, 2023, not longer from when the said woman had assisted her friend into a taxi for a ride home.
Meanwhile, he trailed the young woman as she walked alone that night before pushing her against some railings at an underpass near Sheffield City Centre, where he finally raped her forcefully.
At the hearing which came up on November 9, Tijani bagged a sentence of 12 years and three months in prison, with eight years and three months to be served in custody and four years on license.
Similarly, he was also issued a lifetime restraining order barring any contact with the victim.
While passing the sentence, the judge was quoted to have said: “No sentence I pass will undo the harm you caused or be considered adequate. What you did is every woman’s worst nightmare.”
