Two personnel killed, one abducted in NDA attack

The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has confirmed a security breach by suspected bandits on Tuesday morning.

It was gathered that around 1:30am, a number of bandits attacked the NDA campus in Afaka, Kaduna State.

Confirming the incident in a statement, Major Bashir Muhd Jajira, NDA Public Relations Officer said, “we lost two personnel and one was abducted.”

According to Daily Post, Lieutenant Commander Wulah and Flight Lieutenant CM Okoronkwo were reppr shot dead in the attack while another officer, Major Datong was kidnapped. Also, Lieutenant Onah sustained gunshot wounds and is currently receiving treatment.

“The Academy in collaboration with the 1Division Nigerian Army and Air Training Command as well as other security agencies in Kaduna state has since commenced pursuit of the unknown gunmen within the general area with a view to tracking them and rescue the abducted personnel,” the statement said.

The NDA PRO, however, said the cadets are safe in the Academy, while assuring the general public that the perpetrators would soon be apprehended and the abducted personnel rescued.
