Two dead as cult clashes return in Ikorodu
Atleast two people were shot dead in Ikorodu last night as cult clash returned to the town BlackBox Nigeria has gathered.
According to multiple sources, the cult war which has gradually been returning to the fore reached its crescendo last night when two people “were fallen” by rivals.

Although the identity of the murdered men couldn’t be immediately be ascertained, BlackBox Nigeria learnt that one man was killed around the Ota-Ona axis of the town while the other was shot dead round Owolowo/Isikalu street adjacent the palace of the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi.
Our correspondent also report sighting men of the local vigilante, ‘Onyabo’ around Ota-Ona after the killing.

A source further revealed to our correspondent the unfortunate incident which is just getting to Ikorodu town has however been a concurrent thing in the outskirts for several weeks now.
According to him, there has been a recurrence in the clash of cultists in Odogunyan area of Ikorodu while the violence has also at intervals claimed several lives which never made it to the media.
Last year, BlackBox Nigeria reported that several moves were made by political authorities in Ikorodu which saw the lay down of arms and denouncement of cultism by several cultists in Ikorodu. The former Police Commissioner in Lagos state, Edgal Imohimi was also on ground during these renouncements.
On Monday, February 12, 2018, the Ayangburen of Ikorodu palace was beehive of activities when over 200 young men handed over guns, axes, machetes and other weapons to security forces as they denounced cultism.

Weeks earlier, a similar ceremony had held in Ijede area of Ikorodu Division as facilitated by the LCDA chairman, Salisu Fatiu in the presence of the memeber representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency at the House of Reps, Babajimi Benson, Edgal Imohimi and the Commander of the Rapid Response Squad, RRS, Tunji Disu among others.

It is however unfortunate that these cult activities are gradually returning the community which used to be dreaded for cultism and other negative activities especially the badoo saga in the past.
