Turkish Embassy Denies Diplomat, Abdülkadir Erkahraman, Reaffirms Support For Nigeria
In the wake of a viral video by a Turkey citizen, Abdülkadir Erkahraman, where he paraded himself as a diplomat as he condemned the declaration of the Nigerian Army on the activities of the secessionist group, Indigenous People of Biafra as a terrorist organisation, his country has denied his position of not being a government representative.
In a press release by the Turkish Embassy in Abuja, Mr Erkahraman is neither a diplomat nor a government official of the European country, but a citizen who has been acting on his own.
BlackBox Nigeria gathered that Mr Erkahraman had on Friday released a video online faulting the Army declaration on Biafra. The video which was shot in his alleged office had in the background a Turkish flag and a Biafra flag, as against the Nigerian flag expected to be seen in a diplomatic office.
Findings by BBN reveals that some guns and ammunition that have been discovered at the Apapa Tin Can Port has been linked to have left Turkey before being seized by the Nigeria Customs Service. It was learnt that Turkish Government response in the light of the viral video was important so as they won’t be linked to funding of the agitatins of IPOB members.
