TRIBUTE TO MY LATE MOTHER YEYE FAUSAT GBADEBO

TRIBUTE TO MY LATE MOTHER YEYE FAUSAT GBADEBO

On the 24th of January 2021, God Almighty called you to join Him in heaven. A day I will never forget in my entire life. I am still yet to come to terms with your death, despite being buried in my presence and all, I just feel like I will still see you and talk to you every next minute like I do then

You weren’t a perfect Mother, but I found peace and comforted myself with the fact that you lived a good life. The bond we shared was far from that of mother and daughter, so many beautiful memories we made together. Your problem was my problem, your happiness was mine.

You can’t be my friend and not know my mum or heard of my mum, then we are not friends, Yeye was ever present in my life.

Yeye is that one person that will go extra miles for you and not expect anything in return, rendering help to people without looking back, spending money like there is no tomorrow because we are not even guaranteed of that tomorrow is her enduring philosophy – so why not take care of today’s problem she would often say.

Yeye always says everything lies with Almighty God, more reason she gave herself less stress and was at peace with everything.

I am glad I didn’t wait to have billions before taking good care of you, I am glad I made you smile even at your lowest, I wish I could do more but ALLAHU ALLAM.

Thank you for bringing out the woman in me, thank you for bringing out the best in me, thank you for making me take your business path, I will forever be indebted to you mum. I would try my best to do better and forever make you proud.

Your prayers meant a lot to me, but I cherish those prayer lines you were saying to me every time I called the week you departed this sinful world. I know how much grandma and your siblings meant to you, I know how all you cared about was them being okay even when you were not.

I can’t fill your space but will try my best to make grandma happy. In your last few days, everything you have said about grandma and your sister is returning fresh to head and I won’t take them for granted, mum, they’re really missing you. All your adopted children are now my siblings too, it has always been like that while you were alive and I don’t intend to change anything. I know how much each of them meant to you.

I hope you are smiling at me and my siblings from the right side of the most high. The days are staying long and the nights even longer. Every now and then I wish you were still much around.

Azma and the twins miss you so much and of course, I miss you much more. This journey without you hasn’t been easy because I am not used to taking any step without you, for the past 1 month now, everything has really changed, I am really holding up and trying my best to be strong. With God on my side I am very sure all will be well.

I say a very big thank you to my darling husband, thank you for holding up with me. For your continuous words of encouragement I am truly grateful.
I thank the entire APC leaders and party members for standing by me and my family during these trying times, may Almighty God ease your affairs.

To my Families and friends, you all are the real MVP, words can’t express how grateful I am. My dear Boss and brother, Chairman of Ijede LCDA, Comrade Fatiu, thank you for all you have been doing while Yeye was alive, you stood by me and the family from the very night she died till date, we are grateful.

There is no way I can exhaust this tribute but I won’t stop without thanking everyone, I pray God in His infinite mercy will continue to bless us all for the good deeds we have done.
