Traders count their losses as fire guts popular Lagos market

A fire outbreak has been reported in the popular Balogun market in Lagos State, burning several shops and goods worth millions of Naira.

It was gathered that the tragic incident occurred on Thursday morning, as many traders prepare for the end-of-year sales.

The cause of the fire couldn’t be ascertained as at time of filing this report.

However, a number of the affected traders have expressed sadness over the incident as some broke down in tears to narrate their ordeal, saying they took down loans to get goods to sell during the festive period.

Meanwhile, the Thursday incident comes barely two days after fire gutted an office complex of Spectrum Phones Limited at the popular Computer Village Ikeja, Lagos and destroyed property worth millions of Naira.
