President Bola Tinubu has ordered the Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force and intelligence agencies to launch an intensive manhunt for those responsible for the deadly attack that claimed about 30 lives in Kaduna State.
The President gave the directive following the assault on Naridon Village in Kamaru Ward of Kauru Local Government Area, where gunmen reportedly killed around 30 people, including women and children, and set several homes ablaze in the early hours of Monday.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu condemned the killings, describing the attack as an “unprovoked act of terror” against innocent and defenceless citizens.
He vowed that those behind the violence would be brought to justice, stressing that efforts to undermine the relative peace and improved security in Kaduna State would not succeed.
“I have directed the Armed Forces, police, and relevant intelligence agencies to intensify operations across the affected areas to track down the perpetrators swiftly and restore normalcy to the region,” the President said.
Tinubu also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s security architecture through improved infrastructure, better-equipped security personnel and sustained efforts to dismantle criminal networks across the country.
The President extended his condolences to the families of the victims, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, the state government and residents affected by the attack, assuring them of the Federal Government’s support during the period of mourning.
He further appealed to residents to support ongoing security operations by providing credible and actionable intelligence that could help prevent future attacks and improve emergency response efforts.
