President Bola Tinubu has congratulated former President Goodluck Jonathan on winning the 2025 Sunhak Peace Founders’ Award.
In a statement signed by his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, on Tuesday, President Tinubu applauded Jonathan’s consistent advocacy for peace, harmony, and communality, which has earned him global recognition.
The President praised Jonathan’s bold efforts in peacebuilding and promoting democracy in Africa and beyond, citing his historic acceptance of the 2015 presidential election results and peaceful handover of power to an opposition party.
“This landmark achievement is a testament to Dr. Jonathan’s commitment to peace and democracy,” the statement reads.
“I celebrate this achievement with him and thank the Sunhak Peace Prize Committee for recognizing his efforts.”
