Tinubu Increases NELFUND Coverage: 12 More State-Owned Universities Join Student Loan Portal

The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has welcomed an additional 12 state government-owned tertiary institutions onto its student loan application platform.

This development increases the total participating institutions to 48, with data pending from 121 others.

In a statement released by Nasir Ayitogo, Head of Media and Public Relations at NELFUND, on Wednesday, July 10, it was announced that these institutions successfully completed the submission and verification processes required for enrollment.

Acknowledging this, NELFUND Managing Director, Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr, expressed gratitude to all institutions that have participated, singling out Osun State Governor, His Excellency Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, for commendation during a visit to Osogbo.

The fund urges remaining institutions to promptly submit student data through the Student Verification Portal (SVS) to enable their students to benefit from this initiative. It also calls on states with uploaded data to encourage their students to apply, thereby alleviating financial burdens and ensuring institutional sustainability.
