The African Action Congress (AAC) has asked President Bola Tinubu to allow it to inaugurate its Presidential Campaign Council for its 2027 candidate, Omoyele Sowore, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The party also requested food, drinks and logistical support for 5,000 supporters expected to attend the event scheduled for November 11, 2026.

The demands were contained in a letter dated October 21, 2026, and signed by the party’s National Secretary, Oshiokhue Philip Ikpeminoghena.

The AAC said its request was rooted in the principles of multiparty democracy, political inclusiveness and equal treatment of political parties.

It cited similar arrangements reportedly granted to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), arguing that public institutions should provide equal access to political parties regardless of their affiliations.

The party urged the Tinubu administration to demonstrate its commitment to fairness by granting its requests, insisting that public institutions must serve all Nigerians without partisan discrimination.

The request comes as political parties begin preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The presidency’s response to the AAC’s demands has not been made public at the time of writing this report.
