The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has donated the sum of one billion naira for the establishment of a centre of leadership development in the Lagos State University.
Lagos State deputy governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, who represented the presidential hopeful at the institution’s 25th convocation lecture, made this known on Thursday.
BlackBox Nigeria had reported that Tinubu, despite much media hype and a two-day postponement, had failed to show up at the much-anticipated event for undisclosed reasons. Hamzat, however, delivered the convocation lecture on his behalf on the topic, “Global Trends: The Rightful Place of Nigeria in the World”.
Present at the event which is currently holding at the Buba Marwa Auditorium Complex in the LASU main campus in Ojo are the Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu; his Kano State counterpart, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje; Chairman/CEO of the Nigerian in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa; the Special Adviser to the President on SDGs, Mrs. Orelope Adefulire; royal fathers, as well as other dignitaries.
It will also feature the award of Doctorate Degrees (PhD) and the conferment of Honorary Doctorate Degrees on prominent personalities. The likes of Dabiri-Erewa, Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, his Borno State countepart, Professor Babagana Zulum; Chairman of Ikeja Hotel Plc, Mr Goodie Ibru (OON) and Founder/CEO, The Chair Centre Group, Mrs Ibukunoluwa Abiodun Awosika will be conferred with honorary doctorate degrees.
