Social media has gone into a frenzy since news broke out that an elite high school in Lagos, Chrisland School has suspended a 10-year-old female pupil who was allegedly raped and filmed in Dubai.
On Sunday, Nigerian music executive, Ubi Franklin took to his Twitter page to share the shocking story of the said pupil who happens to be his friend’s daughter, saying the school had knowledge of the situation but chose to conceal it.
In a series of tweets, Franklin revealed that the little girl was selected to represent her school in a sporting game in Dubai. He claimed that while at the competition, the girl was raped, video tapped and the video was posted on Instagram a month ago.
He wrote, ”Just got off the phone with a friend of mine. His 10 year old daughter was selected to represent her school at the World School Games in dubai. His daughter was r**ped by fellow students, video tapped and posted on Instagram and the school concealed it for a month.
“He found out on his own when another parent called his wife and showed his wife the video of his 10 year old daughter being circulated on Instagram. I have spent the last 1hour listening to confessional statements by some teachers and I am begging this should rather be a dream.”

Peoples Gazette, however, reported that the school indefinitely suspended the female pupil after accusing her of taking part in a truth-or-dare game in Dubai. The victim is said to be one of the pupils who represented the school at the World School Games held between March 10-13, 2022.
Chrisland School authorities, in a letter addressed to the girl’s parents, claimed that that she was a “major participant” in the whole incident, adding that other schoolmates who took part in the game had been suspended.
The elite school noted that efforts to inform the girl’s parents about the development proved abortive.
“In line with our core values centred on discipline, Chrisland Schools have zero tolerance for any improper behaviour and misconduct,” the letter dated April 14, 2022 read in part.
“A full scale investigation has been done and the parents of all the culpable learners have been duly notified with the necessary punishment meted out on the learners. The parents gave their full cooperation realizing the need to work with the school so that the learners can be corrected and be of expected proper behaviour henceforth.
“However, in the course of the school’s efforts to see how best we can help who was a major participant in the whole incident, every effort to inform you as her parent about the incident and ensure that this improper behaviour is permanently corrected, has proved to be futile.”
