This Fight is to Define Our Future, Tinubu Assures a Better Nigeria

In a passionate address to the nation, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu shed light on his economic policies, assuring Nigerians that the fight to reform the economy and remove the fuel subsidy is crucial in defining the country’s future.

Addressing Nigerians in a broadcast message on Monday, Tinubu, with the aim of creating a more productive and fairer economy, emphasized the need to tackle the influence of powerful yet unelected groups and redirect funds towards public services and national security.

President Tinubu acknowledged the current hardships faced by the citizens due to the removal of the fuel subsidy, but he reassured them that his administration is actively working to implement interventions to cushion the impact, particularly on businesses and vulnerable groups.

He detailed plans to support the manufacturing sector with a N75 billion investment, as well as allocate N125 billion to energize micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) and the informal sector.

Furthermore, President Tinubu expressed his commitment to ensuring affordable food prices, stating that 200,000 metric tonnes of grains from strategic reserves would be released to households across the country.

Additionally, the administration plans to cultivate 500,000 hectares of farmland and invest N200 billion to boost rice, maize, wheat, and cassava production.

In an effort to revamp infrastructure, the President announced the Infrastructure Support Fund for the States, enabling them to invest in critical areas and improve healthcare and educational infrastructure.

He revealed that the rollout of affordable mass transit buses and a new national minimum wage for workers is also on the horizon.

President Tinubu acknowledged the temporary pains caused by the removal of the subsidy, but urged citizens to have faith in the government’s ability to deliver on its promises. He emphasized that the measures taken have already saved over a trillion Naira, which will now be channeled directly into benefiting the people.

With a strong vision for a better Nigeria, President Tinubu emphasized that the fight to define the nation’s future is underway. He called on the citizens to look beyond the present challenges and focus on the larger picture, expressing confidence that Nigeria will emerge stronger and better equipped to seize future opportunities.

As President Tinubu concludes his address and returns to work, his commitment to promoting the greatest good for the greatest number of people remains steadfast.

He assured of a brighter and more prosperous Nigeria resonates, as the nation embarks on a journey of transformation under his leadership.
