In a rather damning revelation, the ex-wife of outspoken former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has revealed her ordeal while married to him stating that he beat her up on different occasions.
In an Instagram post which has now gone viral, the former Mrs Omokri who simply identified as Tuopsy after removing his name from her handle revealed that she initially endured the beatings for the sake of her children but had to leave when she could no longer bear the assaults.
“After the first instance of violence, which left me with a swollen jaw and weeks of pain, I made excuses, thinking I must have provoked the anger. I even had to endure seeing my daughter witness another slap,” Tuopsy disclosed.
She further shared that she awoke one morning to find blood on her pillow from a ruptured eardrum Reno had caused.
The mother of three said she however left the marriage when the issue got more serious to the extent that she had to call the police to restrain him from further beating her.
Tuokpe and Reno were married for about 14 years before separating due to what the estranged wife described as her ex-hubby’s controlling attitude.
Reno who was one of the spokespersons of PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar during last year’s presidential election has however moved on with his current partner with whom he has a child. The couple had three offsprings while together.
According to Tuopke, he might be claiming to be happy with his current wife because he is able to “control and intimidate” her.
