By Supreme Court Affirms Buhari’s Presidential Election Victory, Quashes Atiku and PDP’s Appeal
The Supreme Court of Nigeria has thrown out the appeal against the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari filed by the People’s Democratic Party ,and its presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
The 7 man panel headed by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Tanko Mohammed who dismissed the petition moments after it began the appeal in Abuja earlier today.
It will be recalled that the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) had in September dismissed the petitions filed by the main opposition party and its candidate where it challenged the victory of President Buhari in the last general election, conducted in the country on February, 2019.
