By Supreme Court affirms APC’s Sule as Nassarawa Governor

The Supreme Court, on Friday, declared Abdullahi Sule of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the duly elected Governor of Nassarawa state.
On March 18, 2023, INEC declared APC governorship candidate as the winner of the state elections defeating his counterpart, Emmanuel David Ombugadu from PDP. Unsatisfied with the results of the election, the PDP candidate challenged the outcome till it reached the Apex court.
The Supreme Court has now dismissed the appeal challenging Sule’s victory at the March 18 governoship election.
In an unanimous decision, a five member panel of the supreme Court, in its lead judgment delivered by Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, held that the appeal against Sule lacked merit.
