Nigeria international, Paul Ebere Onuachu has continued his impressive run with the Belgian side, KRC Genk.
Onuachu was named in the Belgian Pro League Best XI after the conclusion of match day 29. As per statistics from Opta-Joe, the prolific striker has the highest rating of 9.4, making him the best player in the Belgian Pro league Team of the Week ahead of his Genk teammate Bran Heynen, who has a rating of 8.8.
Leading the Genk’s charts is the 27-year-old pointman with three aerial duels won (more than his teammates), one completed dribble, and four key passes.
Onuachu scored his side’s first goal in their 2-0 win away at Luminus Arena against KV Kortrijk on Sunday. The versatile striker provided a brilliant assist for Joseph Painstil to score the last goal of the encounter in the 22nd minute.
“To be honest, I’m not working on that,” the Nigerian forward told newspaper Het Belang Van Limburg in the post match interview.
“I am happy with the number of goals that I have already collected.
“Well, 16 is not wrong, especially if you consider that we are currently in eight position. I’m happy with that.
“My ambition is to score weekly and thus help the team to the necessary points. We’ll see how far I get with that.
“This season is far from over. When I look at the classification, Play-Off 2 also promises to be a tough job. The competition will not be underestimated. But we are in the good flow, and we have to keep it up,” Onuachu said.
