Students, Residents Rejoice as Rep. Benson Flagsoff Lambo-Lasunwon Road To Mark Birthday In Ikorodu

Students of Lagos State University Of Science and Technology and residents alike were full of joy yesterday March 30, 2024, as Rep. Babajimi Benson, representing the Ikorodu Federal Constituency, officially flagged off the construction of the 1.6-kilometre Lambo Lasunwon road, in Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area. This groundbreaking ceremony, coinciding with Benson’s 52nd birthday, was in line with efforts to enhance connectivity and accessibility within the University community.

The Lambo Lasunwon road project, according to the contractor is slated for completion by the third quarter of 2024.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mayor Deen Sanwo-Ola, Director-General of I-Care Foundation, highlighted the strategic importance of the Lambo Lasunwon road to the entire Ikorodu Division. He emphasized that Ikorodu North LCDA boasts the largest voting community in the region, making the road’s construction a significant gesture of appreciation to the electorate.


“Lambo-Lasunwon road is the second project Rep Benson has flagged off in Ikorodu North LCDA within the last month, demonstrating his commitment to addressing the infrastructure needs of his constituency,” Mayor Deen Sanwo-Ola stated. “This road holds immense importance for the community, and its flag-off on Benson’s birthday reflects the significance he attaches to its development.”

The flag-off brings the total number of internal roads facilitated by Rep. Babajimi Benson to 45, proving Benson’s unwavering dedication to advancing the infrastructure agenda of his constituency.

Speaking on the road, Benson said on his social media page,” This road project holds immense importance for the community, coinciding with my 52nd birthday and being the 15th road facilitated in the LCDA.

“Located opposite the Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH), this previously dilapidated road will transform with the installation of solar street lights by the third quarter of this year.

Its completion will significantly contribute to the educational, economic, and socio-economic development of the area.

I am confident that the students residing in this vicinity will finally experience relief from the poor condition of the road, while also enhancing the business prospects within the community.

I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation to all those who made this event possible.
