The State Assembly Has Done Well In Last 3years – Obasa

 

The Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Mudashiru Obasa on Monday stated that the Legislative arm have been active and dutiful for the past three years as it has successfully passed new bills and resolutions into Law in the State.

Hon Obasa stated this while delivering the Status and Strides of the House at the 3rd Edition of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Media and Civil Society Organisations parley.

He disclosed that the legislators have been working hands in hands with the State Executives which have been evident in the uplifting of the State as he mentioned numerous ongoing projects across the State.

He added that in the last one year, the House have passed new 9 bills and 45 resolutions which have helped reshapen the State. In addition, he said the House mandated the State Ministry of Culture and Tourism to build monumental structures that will attract people from far and wide, while also maintaining already existing edifice.

Also present at the Parley were the Deputy Speaker, Hon Wasiu Eshilokun-Sanni, Majority Leader of the House, Hon  Agunbiade, Hon Tunde Brahimoh, Hon Funmilayo Tejuoso, Hon Segun Olulade, Hon Bayo Osinowo, Hon Jude Idimogu, Hon Kasumu, Hon Abiru, Hon Muyiwa Jimoh, among other lawmakers who accompanied the Speaker to the parley.

The House also got commendations for it’s peaceful coexistence from the participants, among them is one from Professor Ishaq Akintola who commended the Speaker for maintaining Law and Order in the House for the past three years. He said his leadership pattern of carrying all stakeholders along is similar to that of the current Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University, Professor Olanrewaju Adigun Fagbohun, which he said have been bringing forth positive fruits.
