Embattled social media comedian, Joshua Sunday popularly known as De General has broken his silence following his release from the custody of the Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
Recall that on Monday, the funnyman and a cinematographer, Caleb William were arraigned before a Federal High Court in Lagos on three counts of drugs possession. The duo pleaded guilty but claimed that they never tasted the drugs which were props for their comedy skit.
In his ruling, the judge noted that the volume of substance was minimal, stating that he would rather convict the defendants and caution them, rather than sentence them to jail.
In a video posted on his Instagram page on Tuesday after his release, the skit maker assured his fans that he was alive, well and ready to go back to making skits now that he is free.
De General also debunked claims that he is a drug trafficker, saying if the reports were true, he would still be in NDLEA custody.
“As you all can see, I am alive. I am healthy, back to the house. I just want to debunk the fact. There is this news speculating that De General is a drug trafficker. I am not a drug trafficker. If I was a drug trafficker, you think they would allow me go like that. I only traffic laughter,” he said.
