Just when Nigerian music lovers thought the drama in the industry was over for the week, fast-rising singers, Ruger and BNXN have ignited a fresh superiority battle.
It would be recalled that Grammy-winning singer, Burna Boy, on Tuesday, came after fans of his colleague in the industry, Wizkid — a development that elicited mixed reactions on social media.
In what may be considered a fresh drama, singers Ruger and BNXN have taken to Twitter to engage in a war of words on whose music career is bigger.
It started with BNXN who took to Twitter to celebrate his sophomore EP titled ‘Bad Since 97′ climbing up to the number one spot on Nigeria’s Apple Music Album chart.
He used the caption, “What if I, What if I, What if I…Cook” which appears to be culled from the lyrics of Ruger’s hit single, ‘Girlfriend’.

But the one eye-patched singer was having none of it, so he fired back at BNXN, challenging him to make a hit single without featuring another act.
“Get a solo hit then talk to me fatty bum bum,” Ruger tweeted.

In response, BNXN, formerly known as Buju, bragged about the success of his newly released EP.
“Project #1 and I didn’t have to whine my waist,” he wrote.

In another tweet, the ‘Outside’ crooner noted that Burna Boy is his yardstick for success in the music industry.
“The project will ALWAYS be more important than the hit! Look at Burna Boy! That’s my yardstick , you think I wanna blow with 1/2 songs and I no fit come back ?? When he was dropping you didn’t call those songs hits back then but you see now? Open your eye patch oloriburuku,” it read.

Interestingly, this isn’t the first time both singers would be enmeshed in a social media drama.
During an interactive session with fans on Twitter, Ruger had claimed that he was bigger act than BNXN who, in turn, replied with a cryptic message, saying talk is better with music.
