As expected, the roads of Lagos State opened to general commuters earlier today and a handful of people have been jostling to get to their destinations.

BlackBox Nigeria brings you an update on the current situation ofor activities following the lift of ban earlier placed on the State, along with Ogun State and the nation’s capital, Abuja. It will be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari in his April 27th nationwide broadcast disclosed that the Federal Government have directed the affected States to start easing the lockdown effective from today, Monday May 4th, 2020. In addition, the Lagos State Government gave guidelines that all persons must adhere to the use of face masks, gloves and hand sanitizers when in public places.

According to images posted by social media users online, social distancing is not being practiced as a BRT terminal was filled to capacity with waiting passengers hoping to get on the available buses.

Also, a footage from a new generation bank showed how a handful of customers are waiting to gain access into the banking hall. Several banks had over the weekend sent out messages to customers on the mode of operations as the lockdown eases. In the mail sent out by Guaranty Trust Bank and obtained by BlackBox Nigeria, the bank noted that not all its Branches will be opened for business from today as it planned to keep them off in case of any eventuality.
