By A 38-year-old mother, Trinh Nguyen has been arrested after she allegedly shot her two sons in the head in their home in Philadelphia, United States.
According to NBC, police responded to reports of gunshots shortly after 7am on Monday and found the boys — nine and 13 — severely injured at the Upper Makefield Township home.
Daily Mail UK reported the two boys remain hospitalized so their organs can be donated after they were said to have been blasted by their mother.
Nguyen also allegedly tried to shoot her ex-husband’s 22-year-old nephew, who lives in an attached apartment of the family duplex.
She reportedly fled the scene in a white minivan and was arrested around 11.30am at a nearby church’s parking lot.
Police said there was evidence Nguyen had attempted suicide but did not elaborate on what exactly they had found.
The mother-of-two was charged with three counts of attempted criminal homicide and denied bail during an arraignment. A preliminary hearing for her case was scheduled for May 16.
