By There was a mild drama in Tambo village in the Girei Local Government Area of Adamawa State after a 15-year-old girl identified as Happy David allegedly beat an 85-year old woman to a pulp, eventually leading to the latter’s death.
According to SaharaReporters, the teenager armed herself with a stick and the stormed the residence of the octogenarian, one Gama Jatau, on April 8, 2022 and clubbed her to death.
Admitting her actions, David accused the deceased of casting spells on her to slow down her academic progress and also frequently inflicting her with diseases.
The victim was later rushed to Jabbi-Lamba clinic also in Girei Local Government Area where she was pronounced dead.
Meanwhile, the girl has been arrested by operatives of the Nigerian Police Force and charged to court.
She was arraigned before a Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Yola, the state capital on a count of murder, an offence contrary to Section 191 of the Penal Code Law of Adamawa 2018. The accused pleaded guilty as charged.
After the guilt plea, the prosecutor applied for the adjournment of the matter, and the court ordered the girl’s remand and adjourned the case to May 26.
