Sheriff Set To Reopen Wadata Plaza After 9 Months

The newly certified National Chairman of the opposition, People’s Democratic Party, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff is now concluding plans to start operating from the party’s main secretariat, Wadata Plaza, located in Wuse Zone 5, Abuja.

Reports gathered showed that the plaza which have since became shadow of itself after being locked for 9 months will be reopened next week.

It will be recalled that officers of the Nigeria Police Force had besieged the plaza in May 2016 when crisis began to tear the party apart.

The nation’s main opposition party has not regain it’s strength since it was defeated during the 2015 General Elections.

Just as the ruling party has been criticised for not handling their victory well, the new opposition too are being criticised for not handling their role well too.

The former Governor of Borno State disclosed to journalists that he was already compiling all legal documents necessary for the reopening of the National Secretariat of the party.

Sheriff also disclosed that plans where already underway to inaugurate a Convention Committee that will organise the party’s National Convention were principal officers will be elected.

While Sheriff prepares to take over at the Wadata Plaza, the Senator Ahmed Makarfi faction is set to take the legal battle to the Supreme Court as it frowned at the Court of Appeal judgement.
