Seyi Tinubu hails Sanwo-Olu amid governor’s removal rumours

Seyi Tinubu, son of the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress and presidential hopeful, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has hailed his father and Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

The entrepreneur took to his verified Instagram page on Wednesday to share pictures from his recent meeting with the older Tinubu and Sanwo-Olu, noting that both men who he consider “mentors” reminded him that leadership is defined by performance and not speeches.

“Yesterday, I sat with My Leader & father, @officialasiwajubat together with Mr Governor and my Egbon @jidesanwoolu.

“I was repeatedly reminded by both mentors, that leadership is defined by results, not attributes or words alone. Their records speak to their results. God bless them. God bless Nigeria,” he wrote.

Seyi’s comments come amid viral rumours that Sanwo-Olu has reportedly been instructed by his political benefactor, Tinubu to drop his re-election bid.

It would be recalled that the governor recently received the nod of the Governance Advisory Council — the highest decision making body of the Lagos APC — to seek a second term in office. He has since obtained his nomination forms.

According to News of the People, an online newspaper, one Mustapha Olorunfemi, who retired as a permanent secretary in the Lagos State Ministry of Science and Technology, has been picked by the ‘Oracle of Lagos’ to replace the governor.

However, both Sanwo-Olu’s camp and the Lagos APC have maintained silence over the reports, leaving many to wonder whether the fate that befell his successor, Akinwunmi Ambode awaits the governor too.
