Seyi Makinde beats APC’s Folarin to win re-election

Governor Seyi Makinde of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been re-elected governor of Oyo state after emerging winner of the guber polls.

Makinde was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) State Collation Officer, Adebayo Bamire on Sunday.

The governor won in 31 out of 33 local government areas with a total of 563,756 votes defeating Teslim Folarin of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who had 256,685 votes.

The governorship candidate of the Accord Party, Adebayo Adelabu, came third with a total of 38,357 votes.
