Nigeria’s Fastest Man Out Of #Rio2016 Despite Brilliant Performance

The hope of Team Nigeria getting a medal at the 100m men race has just been shattered as its fastest man fail to qualify from the Heat One in Rio.

Oluseye Ogunlewe came behind the trio of Brown Kemarley, Ujah Chijindu and Bracy Marvin to claim the fourth position out of the nine men which contested for the race.

Despite finishing at a good record of 10:26 seconds, Nigeria’s fastest man could not book himself a spot in the next round of race for the 100m men race.

Also, another Nigerian contender in the 100m race, Egwero Ogho-Oghene came sixth in Heat Two, also dashing the hopes of getting a medal from the race.

In other heat, World’s fastest runner, Usain Bolt led his heat to book a space at the finals in 10:07 seconds.
