Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, representing Lagos East Senatorial District, has urged Nigerian youths to suspend their planned protest and instead engage in ongoing dialogue for the betterment of the nation.

In a statement released by his media aide, Enitan Olukotun, in Abuja on Friday, Senator Abiru called for understanding from all Nigerians, noting that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is aware of the socio-economic challenges that have long affected the country.

Acknowledging efforts by the President and political leaders to tackle economic disparities causing hardship, Senator Abiru emphasized the government’s commitment to implementing socio-economic intervention programs aimed at benefiting vulnerable groups, including youths.

He highlighted the readiness of the government to address other concerns through constructive engagement.

Senator Abiru appealed to Nigerian youths to demonstrate understanding by postponing their planned protest, citing security intelligence suggesting potential exploitation by anti-state elements.

He advised organizers of the protest to engage with the government, which he stated is open to dialogue and ready to address specific grievances.
