One Ibrahim Mohammed Maigandi has been arrested for allegedly impersonating the Zamfara State Police Commissioner, Usman Nagogo, and duping the Senator representing Zamfara West, Lawali Hassan Dan Iya the sum of N1.8M.
The suspect was nabbed after the police received a report from Senator Iya that the Commissioner of Police, Usman, was being impersonated by one Ibrahim Mohammed who called him demanding for a Sallah gift.
“When the suspect called, I directed my personal assistant to collect the suspect’s account number and transfer N200, 000 to him.
“Thereafter, he called again, saying he had given me 9 slots for Cadet ASP’s and Cadet Inspectors and asked me to pay N2m for all slots, I then instructed my PA to pay N1.6m into the suspects account number”, Senator Iya said.
