The Federal Fire Service has explained the reasons for the delay in the payment of September 2020 salary for its staff.
In an internal memo dated 30th October, 2020, as seen by BlackBox Nigeria, the delay was caused by insufficient funds in the Service’s 2020 Personnel Budgetary Allocation. The Integrated Personnel Payroll Information System (IPPIS) department of the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) was unable to pay salaries for the month of September 2020 as a result of this development.
The document further revealed that about four hundred and twenty eight (428) Ministries and Extra-Ministerial Departments were also affected.
The Service, however, assured the staff that the delay will be “resolved as soon as possible to enable the payment of outstanding salaries for the year 2020.”
