The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, (Jamb) has released the statistics of top States with the highest number of applicants.
These numbers were released yesterday by Prof Oloyede, the Registrar of the board when answering to questions from members of the press at a briefing in preparation for the forthcoming UTME coming up later in the year.
Oloyede made it known that that 1,736,571 candidates applied for the exam, a number he confirmed as the highest number of applicants in the history of Jamb.
He further made it know that among the applicants, 321 are visually handicapped candidates.
The top 10 States with Highest Number of Jamb Applicants includes;
1. 101,868 – Imo State (Highest Number)
2. 88,655 – Osun State
3. 87,811 – Oyo State
4. 81,349 – Ogun State
5. 81,108 – Delta State
6. 77,253 – Anambra State
7. 72,104 – Kaduna State
8. 70,276 – Kano State
9. 70,150 – Kogi State
10. 68,916 – Benue State
About 624 CBT Centers has been created Nationwide where the examinations will be held simultaneously.
