See State of School Named After Nigeria’s First Minister of Finance, Okotie Eboh

SEE STATE OF SCHOOL NAMED AFTER NIGERIA’S FIRST MINISTER OF FINANCE, OKOTIE EBOH

 

The essence of naming monumental structures after national heroes is to immortalize those fallen heroes who contributed to national growth and development, but how then will one explain the essence of such structures when they are in a dying and dilapidated state.

This is the case of the Okotie-Eboh Primary School in Sapele Local Government Area in Delta State that was named after Festus Okotie-Eboh, the first Nigerian Minister of Finance appointed into office by Late. Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa of the first republic between 1963 – 1966.

 

After viral video, Delta suspends school head for collecting unauthorized fees

 

The pathetic state of the school was brought to the public domain after the viral video of Success Adegor, a pupil that registered her displeasure for been sent home after failing to pay a certain fee which is  now regarded as ‘unauthorized’ by the Delta State government.

The current state of the school is such that pupils seat on the floor due to lack of chairs, tattered roofing sheets and an eyesore to behold in entirety.
