Sanwo-Olu Unveils Ambitious Plan To Float Airline, Build Airport In Lekki

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has announced his administration’s plan to establish a commercial airline and construct an airport in Lekki at the Lagos West Senatorial District People’s Town Hall Meeting .

According to the state website, on Friday, the Governor stated that the plan had been in the pipeline for months, with the State already finalizing the financing model for the project.

He added that the business plan is viable and there is no issue about financing.

He also emphasized the importance of public input in guiding the Government’s decisions on planned programs and interventions.

Highlighting his administration’s achievements in Lagos West, Governor Sanwo-Olu listed the completion of 42 new road projects and two flyovers, totaling over 72 kilometers of infrastructure.

He underscored the commitment to infrastructure development in the region, citing completed projects in Alimosho, Ifako, Agege, Ikeja, Mushin, Amuwo Odofin, and Badagry.

The Governor therefore pledged to double efforts in the second term, promising to deliver twice the number of projects and programs achieved in his first term.

He also stressed the significance of the senatorial district in hosting major passenger hubs for the Blue Line and Red Line trains as part of the intracity railway development projects.

In addition to infrastructure, Sanwo-Olu addressed healthcare development, stating that the new General Hospital in Ojo was at an advanced stage. He therefore announced plans to enhance security in Lagos by releasing additional patrol vehicles and work gadgets for security agencies.
