Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Friday, presented a cheque of N5 million to Shotunde Oladimeji Idris, the best graduating student of the Lagos State University and also offered him automatic employment into the State’s public service.
This was in fulfillment of the pledge the governor made while delivering his address at the 24th convocation ceremony of the University.
The 22-year-old Oladimeji, who is from the department of Business Administration, graduated with a CGPA of 4.95, the highest in the University’s history. He emerged as the overall Best Graduating Student of the 2018/2019 academic session.
Sanwo-Olu also presented a cheque of N5 million to the Best Master’s Degree student of the institution, Olabanjo Olusola Ananu, who finished his Master’s Degree in Computer Science with the Grade Point of 5.0.
The presentation, held at the Governor’s office, was witnessed by the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof Olanrewaju Adigun Fagbohun, SAN, NPOM and the Registrar, Mr Amuni Olayinka Mohammed, Esq.
