In what appears a change in leadership, Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has approved the appointment of Mr. Olajide Isiaka Lawal as the new General Manager of Radio Lagos/Eko FM.
Lawal is to succeed former General Manager of the agency, Mrs Ayo Shotonwa who retired from active service on October 8.
His appointment was contained in a statement signed by the Head of Service, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola, saying it was due to the governor’s confidence in Lawal’s commitment to quality service delivery in the field of communication.
Muri-Okunola noted that the new General Manager, in his 25 years service to the Lagos State Government, has served in over 12 Ministries, Departments and Agencies, while encouraging him to take the Agency to greater heights.
Lawal was the Head of the Public Affairs Unit in the Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture.
He began his civil service career at the Lagos State Public Service on December 23, 1994, rising through the ranks over the years to the post of Deputy Director of Public Affairs before his present appointment as General Manager.
The statement further described Lawal as a consummate Public Relations and Advertising professional who holds an M.Sc in Legal Studies coupled with his academic credentials in Mass Communication.
Muri-Okunola, however, thanked the former General Manager for her diligent service to Lagos State, saying she built a highly motivated workforce in Radio Lagos and laid a good foundation for growth in the organisation.
