Samuel Eto Denies Buying Off Cameroonian Slaves From Libya

Disturbing images from Libya shows that immigrants, mostly Africans are being traded as slaves by host citizens, Libyans

Contrary to news making rounds on the social media that Cameroonian striker, Samuel Eto was in Libya where he went to buy off some persons of Cameroon decent from the slavery currently going in the northern African country, the former Barcelona player has denied the news.

BlackBox Nigeria gathered that the slave trade activities gained limelight after a special report by CNN disclosed that some Libyans are trading off immigrants, especially Africans as slaves.

This report has since generated reactions from notable figures on the social media as some have also initiated plans to lead protests to Libyan embassy and also the United Nations.

According to a post by Eto on his Facebook page, the report about him setting some slaves free was false and misleading. He also added that the images circulating online are not recent.

It will be recalled that earlier in the year, the Federal Government rescued some Nigerians back into the country from Libya after reports were rife about suffering in the African country which most migrants use to connect with European countries.

As at the time of filing this report, updates from the Libyan capital has it that Africans, including Nigerians are being traded as slaves suggesting a quick intervention by Governments of other African countries in order to bring an end to the menace.
