By Sad! Generator Fumes Kill Couple in Niger State

One Malam Adamu Mohammed, 30 and Sumaiya Adamu, 20, a couple, have been confirmed dead by the Niger Police in Maitunbi area of Minna as a result of generator fumes.
The Niger Police Public Relations Officer, Mohammed Abubakar, told News Agency Nigeria that the tragic incident had occurred on Monday.

“The incident occurred on Monday night, but was reported to the police on Tuesday by neighbors at 8:00a.m.
“The deceased couple had put on their newly purchased generator in one of their rooms which had poor ventilation and slept in the next room.
“It was ascertained from the preliminary investigations that the couples past away as a result of the generator fumes.
“It’s a very tragic incident as the couples just got married last year December.
PPRO Mohammed also disclosed that: the late couples were paid a visit by late Adamu’s brother, Malam Dahiru Mohammed on Tuesday.
Malam Dahiru who had knocked endlessly left without seeing them.
The police were informed by the neighbors who discovered the deceased had not left their rooms.
“When they discovered what had happened, they raised concerns and had to break in”, said PPRO Mohammed.
It was also gathered from the family that the couple had since been buried according to Islamic rites.
