Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo, who recently got signed to his former club Machester United, has made a new record of the club’s daily jersey sale in less than four (4) hours.

With the club making a sales of €32.5 million in the first 12 hours and getting approximately half of Ronaldo’s transfer fee in 72 hours, it can be said that fans have really made a big deal of the four-time Ballon d’Or winner retaining his iconic No. 7 shirt.

Fanatics, United’s official retail partner, confirmed that the shirt sales hit record figure and the first hour alone outgrew the best full day of global sales for the club’s online store.

The rate of sales of the shirt also recorded the highest daily sale on a single sports merchandise site outside North America.

SkySports reports that Ronaldo became the biggest-selling player in the 24 hours following a transfer to a new club – leading Lionel Messi (to PSG), Tom Brady (to Tampa Bay Buccaneers) and LeBron James (to LA Lakers).
