The former Inspector General of Police, Sir Mike Okiro has concluded his move to the ruling All Progressives Congress in the course of last week.
The former Police boss who is currently the Chairman of Nigeria’s Police Service Commission joined the Abuja Chapter of the ruling party.
He was joined by the State Chairman, Women Leader and the Wuse Ward Councillor as he put pen to the paper.
Mike Mbama Okiro was the Inspector General of the Nigeria Police Force from 2007 through to 2009 before he was succeeded by Ogbonnaya Okechukwu Onovo.
He hails from Egbema in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State. He is the Agunechemba I of Egbema, and Nigeria’s first ethnic Igbo to assume the post of Police Inspector General.
He was appointed by ex-president Dr Goodluck Jonathan as the Chairman of Police Service Commission in 2013.
