Residents Lament As VON Allegedly Dismantle, Sells Ikorodu Radio Station’s Equipment

Residents of Owode Ibeshe Rd, Ikorodu, Nigeria, have lamented the activities of the Voice Of Nigeria, the International Broadcasting Station of Nigeria, around the area of the state.

 

According to a Facebook post by the Ikorodu Ambassadors Group, the VON were seen dismantling the equipments in a radio station in the area.

 

The Ambassador group revealed that it got the information from an anonymous source, who demanded to know why the machines were dismantled and where they were taken to.

 

The post read, “I received these pictures this morning from a person, not identified by name (Anonymous) and a caption that says:

 

“Dear, Ikorodu Ambassadors Group

Please, Kindly help us ask the management of Voice of Nigeria (VON) in Ikorodu where these machines and steel belonging to VON are being taken to?”

 

In pidgin, it wrote, “We just want to know, who knows, maybe they are taking it out to bring in a new set and trying to revive the station as the company self no dey function again OR make e no be like say na Snake wey swallow money that time for JAMB office don dey swallow these ones too o”

 

According to Julius Olojede, a resident in the area, revealed that similar things have happened in the area especially to the infrastructure of the station.

 

He said, “A lot of shady things have been happening to the infrastructure and the institution.”
