Rep. Jimi Benson Facilitates 80-Bed Hospital in Imota, Ikorodu

In a monumental stride towards improved healthcare infrastructure, the Speaker of the 10th National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbass, PhD., and the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals, Princess (Dr.) Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, OFR, jointly commissioned an 80-bed hospital in Imota, Ikorodu, Lagos State.

The health facility, a testament to collaborative efforts, was facilitated by the diligent representative of the Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson.

During the inauguration ceremony on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbass lauded Rep. Jimi Benson for his dedication, describing the project as a tangible manifestation of the legislator’s commitment to meeting the needs and ensuring the well-being of the constituents.

“This 80-bed hospital is more than a building; it is a symbol of the government’s unwavering commitment to the health and well-being of all Nigerians,” affirmed the Speaker.

He further emphasized the government’s ongoing commitment to investing in healthcare infrastructure, training healthcare professionals, and formulating policies prioritizing the nation’s health.

In her address, Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for collaborating closely with sub-national governments to expedite key interventions for achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). She also commended Governor Babajide Sanwoolu for his dedication to the socio-economic transformation of Lagos State.

 

Acknowledging the significance of the SDGs, Princess Adefulire emphasized their universal call to action to end poverty, preserve the planet, and ensure peace and progress for all.

The distinguished Legislator, Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, expressed appreciation for the commissioning despite Speaker Abbass’s busy schedule. He commended Princess Adefulire for her role in completing the project and reiterated his unwavering commitment to the development and well-being of his constituents.

The Ranodu of Imota, HRM Oba Ajibade Agoro, joyfully noted that the hospital would not only reduce healthcare costs but also provide rapid access to essential services.

As the 80-bed Maternal and Child Hospital in Imota is officially inaugurated, the Imota community welcomes the new year with gratitude and optimism for improved healthcare services, thanking Rep. Jimi Benson for his exemplary representation.
