Osun State governor, Ademola Adeleke has assured his supporters to remain calm as he intends to retain his mandate.

This is coming shortly after he was sacked from office by the State Election Tribunal on Friday.

BlackBox Nigeria had reported that the Tribunal ruled that though Adeleke was eligible to contest, he did not win the 16th July 2022 gubernatorial election.

The governor, therefore, turned to his Instagram page to tell his supporters to remain calm, stating that an appeal is going to be made to ensure justice.

He wrote, “I want to use this opportunity to call on our people to remain calm. We will appeal the judgement and we are sure justice will be done. Let everyone be reassured that we will do everything possible to retain this widely acclaimed mandate. God bless Osun!”

Meanwhile, Adeleke was sworn in as the sixth Governor of Osun State, following his victory at the 16 July governorship election where he represented the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and won with 403,371 votes over the APC candidate Gboyega Oyetola who emerged with 375,027 votes.
