Hon. Gill Njowusi, Secretary to the Chairman of Apapa Local Government Area, is dead.

News of his death emerged on Sunday, with tribute messages and posters circulating across social media, describing him as a committed public servant who served the Apapa community with dedication and quiet impact.

According to information gathered online, Njowusi assumed the position on 2nd March 2026 alongside other aides in a statement signed by Bolaji Robert, Commissioner for Chieftaincy and local government Affairs on behalf of the Governor.

Ever since his appointment, he has played a key administrative role within the local government, working closely with political leadership in coordinating council affairs and grassroots governance.

A tribute shared online by the former council’s vice chairman, Kevin Oluwaseun Gabriel described him as “a man of duty and quiet impact” whose contributions to Apapa would not be forgotten.

He’s blessed with three children together with his partner, Florence Ezechie-Njowusi during their 27 years of marriage.

His death is seen as a loss to the local political structure in Apapa, where he was said to have contributed to administrative processes and community engagement efforts.

As of press time, details surrounding the circumstances of his death, including the cause and funeral arrangements, had yet to be publicly disclosed.
