Nigerian singer Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, has thrown an indirect shade at his twin brother, Peter Okoye (Mr P), following posts and comments in which the latter defended his children for speaking foreign language (French).
The latest exchange comes after Mr P posted on his social media handle, celebrating the fluency of his children in French while throwing derogatory words at his native language, Igbo and country of origin.
The singer defended his family with the statement “who Naija language help”, saying children should not be mocked for being multilingual and that speaking foreign languages does not diminish their cultural identity.
Reacting during a post on X, Rudeboy appeared to ridicule his brother’s stance, captioning a short video rooted in Igbo cultural display with, ” I’m a ‘nobody’, I repeat!! a nobody!! without the culture, native, language, the pride, of a Nigerian 100% proudly Nigerian 100% proudly Igbo”, Without mentioning Mr P directly at first, he made comments that many fans interpreted as aimed at his twin brother.
The remarks quickly sparked reactions online, with supporters of both singers debating whether parents should prioritise teaching indigenous Nigerian languages alongside English and other foreign languages.
The latest social media exchange adds to the long-running rift between the former P-Square members, whose relationship has remained strained despite previous reconciliation efforts.
The brothers have repeatedly aired their differences publicly over family and business matters.
As of the time of filing this report, Mr P had not responded publicly to Rudeboy’s latest remarks.
