By Ghetto Light FC eliminated Bright Star FA on penalties in a crunchy round of 16 encounter at the Igbo Owu Mini stadium on Wednesday evening.
Bright Star FA dictated the tune of the game for the better part of the first half. Giving the opponent defense all sort of problems till they finally broke the deadlock.
Deadly Strike Abou Camara rounded up two Ghetto Light defenders before drilling a long shot past goalkeeper Rahmon Kehinde who stretch as far as he could but couldn’t stop the ball from landing in the net.
1 – 0 was how it ended in the first half with Bright Star heading into the break with the lead.
Gradually, the Ghetto ballers began to crawl back into the game in the second half. Utility player Owooniran Quadri tried to curl in an audacious freekick from the half way mark only to hit the woodwork.
Midfielder Bankole Suliamon found strikers Abolomope Hammed. with a delicious pass in the 6 yard box. But the point man failed to convert.
With exactly 3 minutes before the referee sounded the final whistle, Centre back and captain Ajenipa Daniel took the initiative to dribble past four Bright Star players before supplying a delicious cross into the 18 yard box.

Goal keeper, Rahmon Kehinde stopped the second penalty of Bright Star FA as Owooniran Quadri, Babatunde Olawale, Ajenipa Daniel, Abolomope Hammed and Adisa Mubarak took turns to successfully convert their kicks for the Ghetto ballers.
Game ended 6 – 5 in favor of the Ghetto ballers and a quarter final berth was secured. The team will not battle God’s Words FA for a place in the Semi final of the prestigious Prince Gas cup.
