As the wave of banditry continues to spread across Northern states, Zamfara State governor, Bello Mohammed Matawalle, has made a shocking revelation.
Speaking on Tuesday in Gusau, the state capital where he received the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF)’s delegation led by Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti state, Matawalle said some power-drunk politicians who are based in Abuja are behind the attacks.
The NGF delegation had come to visit the governor over the release of 279 Jangebe schoolgirls on Tuesday.
While stressing that he is now charge of the affairs of Zamfara state, Matawalle declared that nobody is a sacred cow or untouchable.
He vowed to arrest any politician who enters the state with the intention to use criminal elements to disrupt peace and stability, challenging any of the politicians to dare him and face the consequences.
It would be recalled that the governor, last Sunday, when the federal government delegation visited him at the Government House, had said prominent personalities were the sponsors of banditry in Zamfara State, adding that many Nigerians would be surprised when these persons are exposed.
