‘Plantashun Boiz’ reunite, perform at Sound Sultan’s memorial

Plantashun Boiz, a defunct Nigerian hip-hop and R&B music trio, appears to have settled their long-running feud.

On Sunday night, the group, which included 2face Idibia, Faze, and Blackface, performed together for the first time in a long while.

The trio performed one of their hit singles, ‘A Night of Tribute’ in honour of late music legend, Olanrewaju Fasasi, aka Sound Sultan, who recently died after battling cancer.

They were seen on stage paying tribute to the ‘Jagbajantis’ crooner during a memorial staged in his honor.

Plantashun Boiz, founded by 2face, Blackface, and Faze, all of whom were students at the Institute Of Management And Technology (I.M.T) in Enugu at the time, took the Nigerian music world by storm when their first album was released in 2000.

Things fell apart, however, after 2face left to pursue a solo career on Kennis Music’s platform at the time.

Following their breakup, Blackface repeatedly accused 2face (now 2Baba) of intellectual theft, saying he wrote the award-winning song ‘African Queen’ — a claim 2Baba has since disputed.

Below is the video of their performance.
