Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage has thrown the ball back into Teni’s court after the singer challenged her to a celebrity boxing fight, responding simply: “Pick a date.”
Teni had called out Tiwa in a video shared on Instagram while discussing the huge earnings and expensive lifestyles of Nigerian entertainers.
In the video, Teni jokingly proposed a ₦1.5 billion purse for a fight against Tiwa, asking whether the money would be enough to buy a Bugatti.
She also declared that she would beat Tiwa in the ring before singing the singer’s hit song, My Darling, for her afterwards.
Teni later tagged Tiwa in the post, writing: “MAMA!!! make we fight @tiwasavage 3billion later I go apologise for outside the boxing ring.”
Tiwa responded in the comment section with just three words: “Pick a date.”
The brief response quickly fuelled reactions among fans, with many interpreting it as Tiwa being willing to entertain the proposed showdown.
The exchange comes as celebrity boxing continues to attract attention in Nigeria. On October 1, 2026, BBNaija winner Phyna defeated actress Nkechi Blessing in a celebrity boxing bout in Lagos under Balmoral Group Promotions’ Chaos in the Ring series.
Other entertainers, including Portable, Charles Okocha, Speed Darlington and Carter Efe, have also featured in celebrity boxing contests.
However, despite Tiwa’s response, there is currently no confirmed promoter, venue or date for a Teni-Tiwa fight.
